Toned & Tested is a product-testing site about beauty after 40. We buy the product, use it at home for at least three weeks, and write down what actually happened: what it cost, what it took to set up, and whether we kept it.

Our senior tester is Claire D. She's been blonde since 1994 and tests in her own shower in Dallas. The rest of the test team works the same way, at home, with the same products you can buy.

We don't run lab tests. When a brand makes a claim (a certification, a percentage, a pressure number), we say it's the brand's claim.
